The Main Causes Of Hair Loss In Women

When you think of hair loss is natural to assume that this is a disease that primarily affects males . However, some experts suggest that at least one in four women experience hair loss at some point in their lives. So why do not we see and hear more about it ? Perhaps the answer has to do with one or more of the following:
- Women are better to conceal hair loss .
- Hair loss in women is generally less extensive in terms of severity .
- Hair loss in women tends to spread evenly over the head rather than concentrated in one or two points.

So why do women lose their hair - are very different from those that lead to male pattern baldness causes? Probably , there are three most common reasons for hair loss in women :
1 . Female pattern baldness - believe it or not, most women affected by hair loss lose it for the same reasons as men. They suffer from androgenetic alopecia which is a reaction to male hormones in the body , particularly the conversion of testosterone to DHT hair hostile. In the case of women, pattern baldness may start later and the side effects may be less than the influence of female hormones , but the condition , however, is the same as that found in male pattern baldness.

Two . Telogen effluvium - this is regarded as the second most common cause of hair loss in women and it is not surprising , given the nature of the condition . Telogen effluvium is characterized by a general thinning of the hair and usually occurs after a traumatic event causing sufficient stress to interfere with the normal cycle of hair growth. Since pregnancy is a good example of the type of event that can shock the hair growth cycle then perhaps the high incidence of telogen effluvium in women is expected.

Three . Alopecia areata - this is the third condition of common hair loss affecting women . It is characterized by patchy areas of hair loss on the head or may be more widespread on the body. It is believed to be caused by deficiencies of the immune system , but much remains unknown about the disease. In many cases , the hair grows spontaneously after a variable period of time, but in a minority of cases , the problem may be more severe and longstanding .
